Ornaments and Amulets (2025)

A quartet of sepulchral offerings for Manchester’s very own Isle of the Dead:

‘In this heretic reconfiguration of the myth, the Island’s northern banks are bounded by the River Irwell, while the Rochdale Canal forms its southerly perimeter, the two waterways converging, momentarily, in the labyrinth of channels and basins near the old Hulme Locks. This slender noose cast around the city’s neck is tightened by a figmentary offshoot of the Islington Marina, which runs north-west up Bengal Street, bisecting the Community Fire Station before continuing up Gould Street, where it joins the last reaches of the River Irk as it empties into the Irwell below Victoria Station.’
